Dubai Bank Implements ShareK Staff Suggestion Program

06 Jun ’10

Dubai Bank today announced the successful implementation of its unique ShareK programme. The programme, which creates a platform for the bank’s employees to make suggestions, is in line with the bank’s policy of driving innovation and continuous improvement through staff engagement.

The ShareK program has been specifically developed to put in place a systematic approach for collecting ideas from employees across all business units, while recognising and rewarding creativity among members of staff.

“The programme was developed with the idea that motivated employees make a crucial difference to an organisation’s performance and as such any platform that leads to greater individual and group recognition must be nurtured,” said Lutfi Al Shukaili, Head of Service Quality and Performance Development, Dubai Bank. “Towards this end, the ShareK programme is playing a crucial role for Dubai Bank in a competitive business environment, where innovation and constant improvement are vital for business success.”

Launched in November 2009, the programme has now been successfully implemented across all business units of the bank. Since the launch of the programme, a total of 185 suggestions have been received from employees until March 31, 2010, which have led to on-ground improvements in customer service operations and product enhancements across various categories. Further, the bank has incentivised the programme to encourage employees to be active partners in the ongoing enrichment of products and procedures.

“When we first developed the ShareK programme, we wanted to create a formal channel, which would not only generate the most creative ideas from our staff to help the bank in its quest for innovation and great customer service, but also provide a more coherent and rewarding work environment,” said Al Shukaili. “We are delighted by the enthusiastic response we have received. We look forward to continuing this initiative, promoting a strong sense of participation and due recognition for our staff.”
