Dubai Bank Wins Top Marketing Honour at International Islamic Finance Awards

In another validation of its ongoing success in marketing of Islamic banking products and services, Dubai Bank today announced that it has been awarded the top honour in marketing strategy at the International Islamic Finance Forum Awards 2010 held last month. The awards, which recognise global top performers in Islamic finance every year, accredited the bank for demonstrating innovation and creativity in the marketing of its products.


Dubai Bank was represented at the event by Waleed Saeed Al Awadi, Deputy Chief Marketing Officer, who received the award for “Best Marketing Strategy in Islamic Finance 2010” on behalf of the bank. The recognition comes in line with the bank’s ongoing strategy to expand the accessibility and appeal of Islamic banking products, through focused marketing outreach.


“At Dubai Bank, we have always incorporated a deep, considered and strategic approach to marketing our banking products and services, so as to appropriately reflect the core values of the bank” said Al Awadi. “The recognition by a prestigious forum such as this is testament to our commitment and success in this regard. Indeed, despite the increasingly competitive environment of Islamic banking and finance, Dubai Bank has demonstrably maintained a unique identity among its existing and prospective customers. This identity is clearly reflected in our marketing strategy, which has focused on integrating the rich heritage and prudence in Islamic banking with creative marketing concepts.


“For 2010, we have planned a range of new programmes, which will be rolled out across different channels in parallel with our product launches and offers. I’d like to commend the efforts of the entire marketing team at Dubai Bank for this achievement.”


The award for “Best Marketing Strategy in Islamic Finance” is aimed at identifying the most effective and creative marketing campaign related to Islamic banking products across the world. As part of the nomination process, the judges went through an extensive document submitted by Dubai Bank, which contained details regarding product briefs, methodology used for identifying target stakeholders, execution of the campaign across channels and adherence to Shari’a-compliant marketing guidelines.


The International Islamic Finance Forum Awards is an annual event organised as part of the International Islamic Finance Forum. The event is managed and executed by IIR-ME, the leading trade and industry conference organisers in the Middle East.
